Police to report apprehensions.
OF ARREST, ESCAPE AND RETAKING
Officers in charge of police-stations shall report 76[in 77[a] Metropolitan Area, to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, and in other areas, to the District Magistrate, 78[and also to the Chief Judicial Magistrate] the cases of all persons arrested without warrant, within the limits of their respective stations, whether such persons have been admitted to bail or otherwise.
